About Us
Not every apartment was designed for a desk. Not every desk was designed for your apartment. At Rough Cut we design and build affordable bespoke desks that fit squarely into any work-from-home corner of your house. Our builds are solid and simple structures with a modern aesthetic flair.
As they say, necessity is the mother of invention. We got our start in the summer of 2020 with the realization that using our kitchen table for a shared work station wasn't sustainable… So we decided to construct a desk for the living room instead. The effect of having the right furniture for our space has completely revitalized our work habits and our apartment. We want to share that quality and improvement with everyone!
We’re Allison and James. We live in Seattle, are recently engaged, and really like our new WFH desk.
Our Desks
We keep it simple, functional, and customizable. We offer 2 basic desk options cut to your exact specifications. We also offer a whole bunch of custom options. Every desk has a sealed white pine finish, and comes with mid-century modern steel hairpin legs and everything you need to get back to work! Want a fun pattern or design on your desk? We can make or design a cool stain pattern or virtually anything you would like.
Perfect size for 2 people, or a home with lots of space. Fully customizable to fit exactly into any room or space. Avg depth of 28"
Custom Wood Stain: +$35
All tables come with a clear coat finish. Add a custom wood stain to darken your new desktop.
Custom Leg size: + $25
Need a smaller, student desk for the kids? We offer leg sizes from 12"- 40."It may add to production time, but worth the wait!
Seattle Delivery: $25
Desk not fitting on you Lime scooter? No problem! We can personally delivery any desk to a Seattle area location upon completion.

Order a Desk
We start by getting exact measurements of the space where you want your new workstation, then we cut, construction, and finish your new desk. Current production time for all desks is about 2 weeks, but expedited orders can be arranged.
